Based at the Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida, Cancer Ecology is a small research group led by David Basanta. We are mathematical modellers who work with biologists and clinicians, trying to understand the ecology of tumors and the evolutionary dynamics of cancer progression and resistance to treatment.

Bone metastasis code on Github

Bone metastasis code on Github

Thanks to Arturo Araujo, the Java code for our computational model of bone remodeling and prostate cancer to bone metastasis is now available on github and has been released under an Apache 2.0 license. This code allowed us to explore bone remodeling, the impact of standard of care treatments [link], novel treatments based on the inhibition of TGF-Beta [link] and the role of the metastatic cluster size in the establishment of prostate cancer metastases in the bone [link]. Now the code is yours to play with.
