Based at the Moffitt Cancer Center, Florida, Cancer Ecology is a small research group led by David Basanta. We are mathematical modellers who work with biologists and clinicians, trying to understand the ecology of tumors and the evolutionary dynamics of cancer progression and resistance to treatment.

WHO expecing a tidal wave in cancer cases

You can trust cancer researchers and doctors to be working hard (and as intelligently) as they can to find new and better ways to cure every cancer type we study. The WHO does not think that this will be enough. As you can find here, the BBC reports that the WHO is expecting  a tidal wave of cancer patients and cancer-related death.

There has been progress in treating cancer but any such progress is being counteracted by an increase in life-style changes that have been correlated with cancer: smoking, alcohol, diet, pollution...
